Expansion is never just about geography. At ATD, our expansion into Indiana, the Carolinas and Tennessee reflects a thoughtful response to customer demand, internal readiness and continued confidence in U.S. manufacturing.
This next phase of growth builds on our experience serving automotive OEMs and industrial manufacturers and allows us to support customers in regions where manufacturing investment continues to increase.
Over the past several years, we’ve grown our engineering capabilities, expanded internal sales support and added capacity so we can respond to new opportunities without overextending our operations.
Those investments help ensure we can scale responsibly while maintaining the quality, responsiveness and consistency our customers rely on.
Each of these regions aligns well with our capabilities and with where our customers are investing.
Indiana was a natural next step. Its proximity helps manage freight costs for steel components and supports quicker response times, both of which matter when supply chains need to stay predictable.
The Southeast — particularly the Carolinas and Tennessee — continues to see increased manufacturing activity. While automotive remains a key driver, we also see steady opportunity in industrial manufacturing, heavy truck, industrial hardware and select plumbing and construction applications.
From a manufacturing standpoint, these regions offer the combination of infrastructure, workforce availability and proximity to OEMs and Tier suppliers needed to support long-term growth.
We currently support seven automotive OEMs as a Tier 2 supplier and continue to see growth from both existing customers and manufacturers expanding their regional presence.
As OEMs grow, their expectations become more complex. Meeting those expectations requires both the right equipment and the right processes.
Our investments in servo presses, in-house metrology, tooling design, simulation and structured quoting help create consistency early in the process — from quoting and tooling through production. That structure allows us to evaluate opportunities carefully and focus on work that aligns with our capabilities, which ultimately benefits both our team and our customers.
Customer service remains central to how we operate.
In practice, that means focusing on reliability, clear communication and accountability. Our goal is to reduce friction for our customers by delivering parts that meet requirements and minimize the need for follow-up or rework.
That approach shows up in everyday execution:
Consistent delivery performance
Products that meet required standards
Clear, proactive communication
Engineering involvement when questions or challenges arise
When customers don’t need to spend time managing issues, they can focus on their own priorities — and that’s where we aim to add value.
As we expand into new regions, our Ohio headquarters continues to support quality systems, engineering, leadership and standardized processes.
We ship products across the country and internationally on a regular basis. While our reach continues to grow, our standards remain consistent — regardless of customer location or application.
Sustainable growth requires more than equipment and facilities. It requires people who work well together and take ownership of the outcome.
Our teams collaborate across functions and remain willing to step in when support is needed. That mindset helps us take on new opportunities thoughtfully and respond effectively when challenges arise — whether in production, planning or customer support.
When new customers begin working with ATD, we aim to set clear expectations and build trust early. We focus on delivering strong overall value through:
Attention to detail
A consistent commitment to quality
Accessible, knowledgeable teams
Over time, that approach helps support long-term working relationships built on reliability and mutual trust.
Organic growth continues, and we’re planning carefully for what comes next. With $4 million in capital investments planned for new technology in 2026, we’re expanding our ability to support additional customers and applications while continuing to strengthen our operations.
This expansion represents a measured step forward — one that reflects how we approach growth overall: with intention, preparation and a focus on doing the work well.
We’re always open to talking through how we work and where we may be a fit.
